Quest Offshore creates “Deepwater Spill Forum”
Quest Offshore announces the creation of the “Deepwater Spill Forum” (DSF). DSF will be held within Quest’s longstanding and internationally respected DeepGulf Conference & Exhibition, which will be held December 8-10, 2010 at the Galveston Island Convention Center in Galveston, Texas (50 miles South of Houston).
DSF will provide a platform for exchange between regulators, oil and gas operators, contractors and service providers, as well as insurance and risk affiliated organizations; all of which have attended and actively participated in the DeepGulf program for over 7 years.
DSF will address U.S. Department of Interior’s directive “Increased Safety Measures for Energy Development on the Outer Continental Shelf”. Topics to include: BOP Equipment and Emergency Systems, New Safety Equipment Requirements and Operating Procedures, Well-Control Guidelines and Fluid Displacement Procedures, Well Design and Construction – Casing and Cementing as well as Increased Enforcement of Existing Safety Regulations and Procedures. Topics will also include risk associated with Deepwater E&P along with the affects the spill will have on the global supply chain.
